U.S. Cavalry's first retail store outside Ft. Knox, Kentucky, was the first military supplier to focus on outfitting the individual soldier. Surplus stores were just about everywhere, but only U.S. Cavalry focused on new equipment and customized services. They featured on-site computerized embroidery in an era when even many banks were not yet computerized.
